Day 2 Porrino to Redondela

X I’ve always firmly believed in not making mountains out of molehills. But sometimes a mountain is simply a mountain. – Me

First things first. Happy Mother’s Day Mom! Without her you wouldn’t be reading this in oh so many differing ways. Her mantra as we were growing up was “do your best”.  Simple, to the point. Success was not required as long as a complete effort was given. They are words to live by. Love you Mom.

On to the matter at hand. Today was my toughest technical Day for the trek from a hiking perspective in that the trail had 500 meters of elevation change. For you non metric types that 850 ft up and 850′ down stretched over 6 kilometers ( 3.6 miles). This was not the most scenic hike but I did find a few shots worth taking.

The First shot should be a hoot for the E TN/ SW VA crowd. I didn’t realize they had gone international lol.

As I said not a lot of Shots one looking up the hill if you look closely has a dog who was laying in the middle of the path doing nothing as the pilgrims walked by. However he must have taken umbrage about my picture taking cause he raised holy hell when I got there. I said good morning in Spanish and kept moving.
The apex of the climb had stone monuments including the sun-dial.

Finally the view from my room tonight. It is in a pension near the ocean. It has a restaurant but it closed and did not reopen for dinner. I have been the only person in the entire building until a few minutes ago when I heard someone else come in. Dinner was an energy bar. I guess that’s why it’s called adventure. Lol Enjoy!
