Welcome to Madrid

Well, I had hoped to give you some aerial shots of Madrid as we landed. Unfortunately, Madrid was experiencing a rare morning, I am told, thunderstorm. A little cool here, mid 50s, but the way everyone was bundled up you’d have thought it was much cooler. Have some jet lag. The lay-flat seat/bed is a great idea and a perfectly wonderful solution if you are 5’5″ and 130lbs or less. 5’11” 230, not so much so I’m working through a bit of jet lag. The people so far are very nice and willing to tolerate what I am sure is very poor Spanish. The other thing I find fascinating is how quiet it is. I’m sitting over a train station but I’ve yet to hear a train, heavy truck, anything and I have the windows to my room open. Here is the pic for today. Sorry due to the weather and the view of a homeless camp outside my hotel window not much worth taking today. Train trip tomorrow.
